ICS calendar Stuck ActiveSync

I have a strange issue that was just brought to my attention.

We have a number of calendars in our organization that are publishing as ics calendars. One of our users entered the ics calendar address as http://path_of_ics.ics into a browser, then was prompted to open the calendar in outlook, and the calendar displayed as expected. It would import by the name "calendar" but they were able to rename it to whatever they wanted inside of Outlook. However, by importing the calendar via HTTP instead of a webcal:// address, the calendar is also able to be viewed as a calendar on the users windows phone. This is great!

I went ahead and tested this scenario on my account and sure enough, it worked. Here's the problem. I can't get rid of the calendar on my phone or the user who broght this to my attention. I removed the calendar from outlook, but the calendar is still there on my phone. I can choose to not display the calendar, but the user who broght this up has 5 or 6 calendars that he doesn't want to be connected to anymore.  This setting has followed him throgh different phones as well. I have removed my active-sync connection as well and added my account back and the ics calendars are still there. Any ideas on how to get rid of these calendars? Thanks!
