At the moment we are trying to get the Exchange 2007 to 2010 Migration prep work completed.
- ActiveSync devices currently connect to Exchange 2007 via external DNS, firewall and load balancers
- Exchange 2010 is in coexistence mode with 2007 with no external URL configured for ActiveSync
- All users mailboxes are still on Exchange 2007
- When we add an external URL to Exchange 2010 all iOS ActiveSync devices pick up this change? The key here is that no external DNS, firewall or any other change has taken place so the ActiveSync devices should be completely unaware of this change as they are still being routed to Exchange 2007. No changes to Devices, Exchange 2007 or routing is made at this point. This change should have no effect as we hadn’t actually moved the Activesync connection point to Exchange 2013 but the devices still get a prompt? Any ideas? Autodiscover is switched off.
- This procedure is a stepping stone to moving the connection point to Exchange 2010 at which point the Exchange 2007 servers external URL are changed to “legacy.acme.com”.
Any advice greatly appreciated.
