First... Why has MS borked this so hard? I DONT GIVE A ABOUT WHATEVER YOU SAY AS A REASON FOR THIS. Before all I had to do was set the required user or group in the managed by field and set allow user to update membership. THAT WAS IT! Just 2 steps. If this is no longer valid then HOW COME THE FIELD IS STILL THERE? IT MAKES NO... .. SENSE
Now you've implemented some 20 step BS way of doing what took 2 steps... WHY? JUST MAKE IT 2 STEPS.
Second. Ok. You've it up. So wheres the article that just says "this is how to set to allow a user to update a distribution list"? That's all I want... I don't want reasons. I don't want BS. JUST TELL ME HOW TO DO IT. Then you have articles that only tell half the story:
IE. http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2009/11/18/3408844.aspx... Says how to setup the Role Assignment BS... Ok.. THEN WHAT? How do I now grant a user the ability? Will it just work now? Do I have to do anything else?
I'm not sorry one bit for my frustration.. There no reason for this to be so complicated... Allowing users to update a Distribution Group is basic as anything task.. It should be a simple thing to set or MS should provide a CLEAR AND CONCISE "THIS IS HOW TO DO IT" ARTICLE.
